The highschool bestfriend

Una ko siyang nakilala noong first year highschool kami, transferee siya.

He was the student council vice president and a consistent class officer.

Ako pa rin ang takbuhan niya tuwing kailangan niya ng excuses, pinagtatakpan ko pa rin siya even after highschool. Drinking buddy sa lahat ng problema.

Mahilig kaming kumain at mag gala. Dyan kami magkasundo. Buddy-buddy kami sa mga fiesta o kahit anong kainan man yan.

Nasa 3rd year college kami noong bumalik ulit ang sakit nya. For the longest time, akala ko completely healed na siya, nagkamali ako. Pero I felt no emotion dahil alam kong gagaling ulit siya. Hindi yun ang first time niya, immune na siya dahil simula ng magkaisip siya, taglay na niya yung sakit na yon.

Mas tumibay ang samahan namin dalawa. Most of the time, nandoon ako para sa kanya para suportahan siya.

April 1995, we celebrated his last official birthday sa ospital. I never saw him cry kahit isang beses.

June of 1995, tinawagan niya ako, may post birthday celebration siya.

I then heard the bad news. Around 3 am that day, he passed away.

Cool pa ako noon, I went back to sleep dahil sa sobrang antok.

I could have said my final goodbye. Sobrang sakit.

Others may find it weird pero eversince mamatay siya for the past 15 years, parati ko siyang dinadalaw sa sementeryo tuwing birthday niya, death anniversary at pasko. Wala pa akong na miss since then (kasi baka ako ang dalawin nya pag nakalimot ako). That’s the least that I can do to thank him for the awesome friendship.

Its been 15 years since he died of leukemia. He will remain as one of my bestfriends till life after death.

See you in heaven!

A letter from a teenage Filipino to the WHOLE WORLD

August 23, 2010

"A letter from a teenage Filipino to the WHOLE WORLD”

As you are reading this letter, I bet that you have seen/heard about what happened earlier in our country.

Tourists were hostages of a policeman here, Rolando Mendoza. After a few hours of the horrible crime, some of the victims were dead including the hostage-taker.

I wrote this letter not just to apologize but also to let everyone know that we Filipinos are not all like Mendoza. We are loving and good-hearted people.

For so many years, our country has been standing tall and surpassing every dilemma; be it small or big. Years ago (back when I wasn’t born yet), you have watched us fight for what we think is right. We fought for the democracy of our nation.. The EDSA revolution. But that’s just one out of many.

Second. We Filipinos have been serving other countries for our families and we treat you as our own as well. With all due respect, I thank you all for giving us the trust through the years. For helping us to become what we are now.

The Philippines is more than just a group of islands. We are a nation of strong and remarkable people. A country of beauty and love known to be hospitable and well-valued. I humbly apologize for what happened tonight. No one in this world would want something like that to happen for life should be valued.

I politely ask the attention of the world. Please do not judge and mistreat us just because of what happened tonight. I have been searching the net and found terrible things. Hong Kong advices to avoid travels here, China and HK bans Filipinos and that Philippines is the worst place to go.

I can’t blame you for what you have decided but I hope that you could understand. Our country is now in a sea of problems. And I know for sure that we helped you in a way or another. Let peace and understanding reign this time.

I know that this letter will just be trash but I wish that you would understand. On behalf of the Philippine population.. WE ARE SORRY.

As a song puts it…

And I believe that in my life I will see an end to hopelessness, giving-up and suffering. And we all stand together this one time then no one will get left behind. Stand up for life. STAND UP FOR LOVE

Sincerely yours,

Reigno Jose Dilao

Joyce

Prodigal mom's best friend just passed away minutes ago. A common friend phoned me to tell the bad news. I don't have any choice.

Best friend ni prodigal mom si Joyce. She's Cairo's godmother too. They've been friends since college days. Joyce became a big part of our relationship. Sandalan ni prodigal mom during our rough times. They shared a lot of secrets. They're inseparable and thick as thieves. Naging mabait sakin si Joyce despite what happened between me and prodigal mom.

I feel bad, andaming bad news na nangyari these past few days and I don't think I can handle some more. It's too much. A lot of pain, grief and suffering.

I just hope Joyce will be in good place with Bro. I pray for her eternal peace as well as her family.

Joyce, thank you for everything. Rest in peace!

Remembering Jacko (1958-2009)

It was my brother, Leroy, who told me the news. He barged into my room and woke me up to tell me MJ's gone. I thought he was just joking but I know he will not invade my dreaming moment for nothing. So I immediately went online and confirmed the bad news.

I grew up listening to his songs. Lalo na pag may program sa school and we're forced into performing, songs nya kaagad ang isa sa mga top choices, another being Menudo.

He may have done a lot of crazy things from the past but I think its great to remember an icon who sparked life into the music industry and give him the credit he very well deserve.

So, here's to the legendary Michael Jackson. May he rest in peace and enjoy the Neverland!

Goodbye chocolates, goodbye spaghetti, goodbye hotdogs, goodbye CARLO!

CARLO “GREGGY” C. ROA
October 7, 1976 – January 16, 2009

Greggy (as I call him because he looked exactly like his dad) was a BS IE classmate in UP. He’s a math whiz. He graduated as valedictorian in highschool.

Greggy was a classmates in some of our major subjects. Tsismoso din to paminsan minsan.

Here’s a a great man and friend! Maligayang Paglalakbay Greggy!
